Just woke up in Western Australia and ecstatic to see the result!
Pats on the back all round for the sheer tenacity, professionalism, and enthusiasm to see this thing through. Congratulations also to the members of the Council who were able to see the big picture and make a decision on planning grounds alone (As an ex Councillor and Shire President I know how difficult this can be when you are subject to pressure from lobby groups - for and against!). One hopes that the email I sent to all Councillors, the signature on the petition and the letter of support helped.
Thanks also to the guys and gals who took the trouble to post up to the minute, nail biting reports as events unfolded at the meeting. It certainly helped those of us abed (0200 our time and there was nothing to be served by me staying awake in WA) to experience the tension.
