Ginger Beer,
Superannuation (pension) taxation in Australia has just received a massive revamp, but the standard tax rate for superannuation is 15%.
As of last year's budget, any self funded superannuation funds become entirely tax free once the benefitiaries turn 60 years old, and are drawing a pension from the fund. That's everything to do with the fund: earnings, interest, payouts, even no Capital Gains Tax: all tax free
Where UK pensions stand, I'm not sure, but a visit to
www.ato.gov.au may shed some light.
