The CAA website gives the stats for the current rolling year, it's looking like 780K pax through the terminal this year.That doesn't justify a massive terminal expansion, and with Globespans reliability(check other threads for corroboration) I can't believe Peel any more than I believed them last year or the year before that.
The companys' development plans are to open up the southside of the airport as a Business Park, (something that they have a good track record at doing) and then there could be some cash generated which could fund terminal improvements.The big question is in the timing, if they leave it too late ,GSM will have either gone or b***ered up the pitch sufficiently to discourage other operators and then Peel are left with a significant development asset which many think has been their game plan all along.
We shall wait and see.
