I dont really see the point in wearing hoods, goggels and having screens? When you fly IFR you fly IFR and you dont look up.
For example if you fly an ILS approach and try to do it visually the examiner will se right away that you're not following the glide because you eyes can never be as accurate as the glide-slope...
The examiner would never ever make me wear a hood, we even used autopilot for most of the flight... off course I had to prove that I could do it manually also but once he saw that I could do it we did the rest of the flight with autopilot. Manual one-engine approach, circling of course but the rest?...
