Sorry leofric, it is true: just 2 737-300s at Coventry next Summer, and presumably a severe cutting of routes as Thomsonfly already run a tight schedule (though not as tight as Globespan).
Given Thomsonfly's decision to purchase 737-800s, this was coming, and by the apparent decision by the company to be heading back towards the charter market, the scheduled/low cost side of operations looks as though it will be bearing the brunt.
The Airport must now hopefully erect some kind of permanent passenger facility (I doubt they will get permission for 2 million, but hopefully something which can handle around the 0.98 million currently permitted), and somehow get another main carrier in. Durham Tees Valley did it with the loss of BMIBaby resultin in FlyGlobespan, hopefully Coventry can do similar .
