My recollection is that John Dodd's car was Meteor powered. Further background is that he was an automatic transmission specialist, at a time when many prestige cars used bought in GM Transmissions. GM's main parts depot was/is in Antwerp and if your GM transmission car broke down in mainland Europe JD would swing past the depot and then come to you, in the Beast, to effect repairs.
