Assuming you are doing the MEP class rating aswell then I would probably only do a maximum of 30 hours in the sim. You can learn all the procedures reasonably well in that period of time. You'll need ALL the remaining time though, probably more, to get up to speed and learn to fly the aircraft. I did the MEIR course before I had my cpl which meant I had to do the 55 hour course. Basically I did 30 hours FNPT2 time, then the 6 hours for the MEP rating and the remaining 20 hours were IR training in the seneca. It worked well for me doing it that way.
