I like that one. All the checks I carry out are, of course quite logical and required, but, when no. 1 granson asked me why, it made me think about the impications of them while I explained. I have been flying off and on for the best part of forty years and I am, without doubt, getting quite blase about the whole thing. Touch wood I have never had a major mechanical failure but I have seen them. I did do all my checks with more enthusiasm after being questioned.
Taking the pax around with you makes them aware of just how serious a business flying is. It also reminded me of this.
