Some great news this week with the news of the Sky Europe service from Bratislava which will also be so handy for travel to Vienna in Austria. A good save too with the Central Wings flights from Krakow, Wroclaw and Warsaw now secured for the winter season.

Let us hope that the CAA roll up their sleeves and do a good job of helping promote both the new route from Bratislava and the all ready established ones from Central Wings. Certainly, the departures times ex Cork are now ideally fixed for Irish people looking for weekends away as up to now the times for Krakow in particular have been less than ideal. Time to encourage the remaining religious nuns and brothers from around Cork to take a pilgrimage trip to Pope John Paul's home town in Krakow etc!

Bratislava is a great shot in the arm for Cork Airport and between the working immigrant traffic from around Slovakia and the Czeck Republic and the weekenders from the Cork area visiting both Bratislava and points in Austria etc this new route should be, hopefully, okay.

Now, if only Madrid could have been saved.

However, all in all an encouraging few days for Cork Airport.

Corcaigh Abu!
