On the weight issue, the following is from the 744 maintenance manual.
RB211 - 13,882 lbs (6302 kg)
CF6-80C - 12,725 lbs (5785 kg)
The figures are engine dry weight with inlet cowl, fan cowls and thrust reversers fitted.
