Three-dimensioned darkness

i'm reading a book, titled Three-dimensioned darkness,really an old book: published in 1963,written by Cpt Lincoln Lee.
My question is: anyone out there met this captain; he flew for B.O.A.C ( yes i know talking about jurassic age!)... maybe you old timers!
