An article in today's Estado de Sao Paulo (
http://txt1.estado.com.br/editorias/...70719.83.1.xml) states that the TAM aircraft did swing left onto the grass and that the undercarriage did hit the low (about 15") wall at the edge of the taxiway.
It also states that 30 seconds elapsed between touchdown and crash.
