Mike Warren RIP
It has been reported that Mike Warren was killed when his Yak 52 training aircraft crashed into a field near Seattle.
Mike, 50, was the survivor of one of the most unusual air accidents ever when, in April 1998, a Cessna that he was flying became entangled in power cables close to Boeing Field, Seattle.
He and the plane hung upside down by one wheel, 60ft above the ground for four hours until firemen rescued him.
Curiously, and sadly, killed with him was Alexander Zuyev, 40, who 11 years ago flew a MiG-29 from the Soviet Union to Turkey, despite being wounded by gunfire. Having been granted asylum in America he subsequently moved to Washington state, where he became friends with Mike.
