Nice to hear that the CAA has finally recognised the shortage of instructors in the UK and is proposing to do something about it. Apparently they are looking at introducing a Simple Single Engine Aeroplane Instructor Rating, which would remove the requirement for a CPL.
However, according to the article (
here) the CAA can only approve it for the NPPL; the JAR PPL will require EASA approval and one can only guess how long that will take...
