Alconbury's runway closed on 31 Mar 1995. I think I might have been their last movement; we flew an approach in VC10K3 ZA147 that day after first flying an approach at Wyton; it too was closing - although that decision was later reversed.
Fond memories of Alconbury - including a memorable time in Mar/Apr 1982 playing with the Aggressor F5Es of the 527th when I was flying F4s with 56(F).
