I don't think the RN would take any specific notice of what the RAF had told you.
Bear in mind that you can only take the aircrew aptitude tests twice. If you applied for the RAF, were told to wait 12 months, then applied for the RN, and failed/told to wait, you'd have used up your OASC tickets.
