On the negative side, the RAF are looking for a wide range of talents and abilities but pilot aptitude scores achieved in their various tests outweigh any practical flying experience.
On the positive side, if you like to fly and can either afford it or be sponsored, get your PPL.
It will clarify in your own mind whether a flying career is for you, and, more importantly it's great fun.
