Given Mike's reply that you haven't got much time to waste I shall expand on BLs message:

It goes like this - you attend an armed forces careers office

in another couple of months. [quote]
Should you be successful here, you'll begin initial officer training [quote] and here is the rub, it might take 2-3 months more before you start IOT and that is critical as you must be under 24 on that date then
and 30 or so weeks later emerge as a shiny new junior royal air force officer.
You'll then attend an aeromedical course and ground school and then join elementary flying training on the grob. After around 60 hours covering general handling, aerobatics, low and medium level navigation, formation flying and a few other things, you will be "streamed". At this point your future employment will be decided on the basis of three factors - with your personal preference a weak 2nd or 3rd of 3.
Worry about going to the careers office to show you're interested before worrying about anything else.
