As for Upfield Farm yes there are issues with the concrete runway, accordingly he didn't have planning permission for it and has to remove it but I understand he is appealing against the decision. He shouldn't have gone against planning but the reasons given for it's removal are straight out of the NIMBYS handbook.

The recent fatal accident won't help his appeal
I would question the time from Upfield Farm to Cardiff, last time I did it it took me over 50 minutes, it's in a beautiful spot but pretty remote, Getting a taxi may take some time.
