Personally I prefer it to a tail stand, as it is much less messing around
If you ask the CV boys, they don't like tailstands...just get the loading sequence right & you never need them! I guess, if you're a tad lazy & think the tailstand will take the weight if you screw up, then all that aft pressure is concentrated in one area in the tail. I believe there have been cases of the tail struct puncturing up through the tail...not down my way of course!
