Why the RAF Regt?
Kandahar (in an area nominally protected by the army):

Before RAF Regt arrival: multiple daily rocket attacks, 1 GR7 destroyed.

After RAF Regt arrival: weekly or monthly rocket attacks.

Perhaps that is the reason?
