EK EY Comparison

Guys I have been reading this thread for a while and having worked at EY before I joined EK I thought it best to clear a few things up if you are questioning who is the better carrier to join...
Average Salary for grade 2 at EK = 7500 Dhs + allowances (roughly
2500 Dhs a month) Total = 10000 Dhs. Guys this is for 60-80 Hours only!! Unlike EY where my friends are still averaging 100 - 110.
The pay goes up as you are promoted and you can forget about spending 2 years in Economy now. Promotion is much faster with crew being promoted to Business after 10 months WITH sick/absent days!! A friend of mine here was working in First class in just under 3 years earning 12000 Dhs per month PLUS her allowances!! Do the math!
Better layovers at EY? Maybe some but we also have great trips at EK i.e 9 day BKK/SYD (3 days in SYD on this trip) 10 day SIN/BNS etc etc. Also our shuttle flights make normal layovers longer... for instance BKK/HKG... depending on which one you do you get 2 or 3 days in BKK. My roster at EY was all 24 hr LHR,CDG,MAN... I rarely got any long layovers.
EK also has an online swap system where you can swap your roster. Much more organised than EY using the notice board in OCC.
Our accomadation is much better here at EK and Dubai apart from the traffic is much more cosmopolitan to live in. Better shopping, clubs and restaurants with establishments offering crew great discounts not treating you with contempt like AUH!
However the real difference is the management. Here at EK you will have SUPPORT from your Cabin Crew Manager. Crew rarely get fired here as we have HR policies in place which protect you from this. There is no such thing as managers ruling with intimidation like EY.
As EY grows and changes so will EK... With EY's fleet over 20 now ours is over 100 with new aircraft being added each month and fabulous destinations like Cape Town (soon to be announced) Venice and Sao Paulo coming up. No matter how hard EY tries to catch up EK will always be ahead.
No matter where you go Crew will think that the grass is greener and will winge. It is human nature.
Not trying to have a dig or slag EY off just trying to lay the facts down and think I am in a better position to do it having worked for both.
Keep Discovering.
