Update on this for future reference.

Arrived Frankfurt. Went to the nearest Senator lounge. Asked for directions to FCT.

Basically, exit the current terminal as an arriving passenger with FRA as destination. Through passport control / baggage / customs etc.

You are now in arrivals. Go to the other level for departures, see the nice people at LH First check in and a car is sent to collect you. Its perhaps 5 mins drive to the FCT.

Arrive, personal greeting etc. and the best bit - going through security. Very smart, very polite machine operators. Four of them IIRC. Bag on the conveyor, wall through the detector. All done in perhaps less than 20 secs from arriving at the terminal. Oh, if all travel was like this.

FCT is a great way to while away a few hours. Beds in private rooms, big baths, showers, a great bar, sit down dining etc. etc.

As departure time arrives, an assistant finds you and escorts you to the lifts. Down two floors to the departure gate - at which point the assistant leaves. Then someone else takes over to check the boarding passes. Finally the most lonely customs / police chap behind his own desk checks passports.

Into the car to be whisked across the airport to the aircraft (still escorted by yet another assistant / driver). Up a lift, along a corridor and before you know it you are on the air bridge and boarding the 747.

If only all travel could be like this
