CHC Dauphin Interior

Hello all,

I was hoping I could ask for some help by the many pilots that roam this forum.

My 4 year old son has been smitten by helicopters ever since he was old enough to see the CHC Dauphins that fly over our house every day on route between the Irish Sea Rigs and Blackpool Airport.

At an airshow stall last year, he spotted a model of the Dauphin and it seemed fitting to purchase this with a view to painting it in the CHC livery so that he could have his very own rigs helicopter.

Trying to make the model as authentic as possible, I have researched the web for interior photos of a CHC Dauphin but have had little luck with the detail I am trying to make. Photos generally do not show the likes of the rear cabin bulkhead, floor pan, pedals, etc, or if they do, they are not of the CHC Dauphin.

Although Blackpool Airport’s CHC office were very helpful in describing the colours (even saying if one was on the helipad I could have had a look (I’m not cheeky enough to go back and ask when one is available at fear of being labelled a spotter)), description’s cannot substitute pictures.

The tragic events of G-BLUN at the start of this year had an impact on my son (even at this tender age) and he asked to take some flowers to the place on the fence next to where we would watch G-BLUN and her sister ships fly from and to every weekend. He has since asked for this model to have G-BLUN’s markings.

I would be very grateful if anyone could help me if they already have or could get hold of detailed photos of the CHC Dauphin interior to help us on with our project. I'm especially interested in such photos as where the bulkhead meets the floor pan, centre instrumentation console, main instrumentation console meeting the floor pan etc

Kind regards
