I believe the crews of the two aircraft that hit the World Trade Center offered little or no resistance in the belief that, as in the majority of previous hijackings, the situation would be resolved on the ground. How could they have imagined the hijackers were suicidal fanatics? No doubt it was a different story on the other two.
IIRC, none of the flight crews were even aware they were being hijacked. They were attacked in their seats without warning; except for UA93 who had received a SELCAL but not yet acted upon it.
