You're right. BHX is a complete joke as I found out to my frustration last year. Had arranged with the crew (Emirates) to meet them at the Aircraft as I was staying away from hotel and not using the transport provided. Turned up at security in Full Uniform but alone. Gorilla of a security guy;
" I'm sorry but you can't proceed on your own"
" Why not? "
" Because you havn't got a BHX I.D.and you're a foreign crew"
" Well how can I get to the Aircraft as the crew have already gone through"
" You have to have an escort or be signed in by the Captain "
" Can I sign myself in then please"
" I'VE JUST TOLD YOU. IT NEEDS TO BE SIGNED BY THE CAPTAIN!"
" But I
am the Captain!"
Long pause with confused look at four stipes on Jacket and closer look at ID with words Captain on.
" Okay, I suppose you can go through then!"
