If AsA have gone from needing around 50 atcs to having a surplus of 100 then they really have achieved the holy grail of staffing.
Somehow I doubt it.
They keep telling us that they don't want any Team Leaders (or other names meaning the same) to go and they will find jobs for them; but the problem is Airservices does actually have to follow the law. The relevant law (Certified Agreement and Workplace relations ACT) is you can only be redeployed if you choose to be if it's not to the same level/location, or you can get VR.
If you were a Team Leader over 50 and they are offering you a $220K+ payout; would you go now for 75 weeks wages when you were going in 2 years anyway?
They are desperate for staff, granted, but it may be more desperate than originally forecast if they lose some to VR.
