Upgrades to the left seat varies from 4years to 8years. Wow that is a huge diff if one is to join the emirates as a fo. So what is the real deal? 4 or 8? Does emirates provide tickets to fly over to dubai for the interview??
The only thing you can do is
PREDICT an upgrade based on current information. It doesn't matter that upgrades are taking 3-4 years right now. That was for someone hired 3-4 years ago. Someone hired today will have to base their prediction on
expected fleet growth and
expected attrition rates. Those could easily change going forward. Fleet growth could come to a stop or it could accelerate. Attrition could come to a stop or it could accelerate. Nobody has a crystal ball and nobody can make a 100% accurate prediction. The airline could stop the DEC program or expand it. Lots of variables you see. It's all a crapshot. Good luck.
