Crew Rest
MANDOZA- Yes, these are the only guarrenteed flights with crew rest. Some aircraft have been seen with bunks going to BKK and FRA, but this is once in a while, if only because the B777-300 ER is needed for that route.
DXB-JNB is only 8hr and 10min, so is too short to warrant the crew rest bunks on a regular basis. Maybe in the future it will, as we are getting more B777 ULR's, but I think these will be for the upcoming American routes if anything.
I also haven't done JNB in over a year, and as such do not know what rest periods there are on board. Probably 2 soft blocked seats in economy. From what I remember though, on the JNB flight we were working so hard there was no time for rest.
Good news is that from next month there's a 3rd daily flight there, and as a result there are 48 and 72 hr layovers floating around. Not sure when this will become a daily service though.
