I've heard Cork Airport is to sponsor this year's Cork Midsummer Festival. While sponsoring public events is a nice thing to do, can they really afford it considering the state of finances at the moment? I presume they think they will get extra business from it but will it really attract enough business to justify the cost? Would it not have been better to use the money to buy another badly needed airbridge!
