Hi ben asher.....at eurofleet standby is done at the compass centre and is rostered in a 6 hour block,you may get one or two a month.If you are called to do a trip from standby you will trigger all the allowances from the time that you started your standby from.Availables also appear sometimes on your rosta and for these you need to call "VOICE" at 6pm the evening before the availale to see if you have been rostered anything for the next day,quite often you will have a couple of availables before a block of days off and the last available becomes a non-op so you get an extra day off!Everything is explained on your coarse so dont worry about anything!good luck!
