The Regulator wrote to the Company about the logging of flight time - specifically with respect to frozen ATPL holders wishing to thaw that licence.
It was not the best-worded letter ever written. The Poms in Flight Ops seized upon this and interpreted it in the way that most favoured the company. The Regulator does not want to create a $#!t storm by rejecting the FCI. But he was quite clear to the guys who went to see him. The letter referred to
logging of flight time only. Exceed the 900 hrs at your peril.
