Wizz! are 'testing the Stansted water'...
Until Stansted gets its second runway or one of its major operators goes bust or abandons the Essex airport, there are simply no peak-time runway slots for the services that Wizz currently operates at Luton.
That said, Wizz has some significant expansion plans which it would like to see happen at Luton but which at the present time - because of the situation between LBC and ACDL - just cannot be accommodated as the necessary infrastructure isn't in place.
Ditto the situation with Silverjet (although its expansion aspirations are rather more medium-term).
Sadly, unless both parties sort out the current stale-mate and further development takes place at Luton (and I'm not talking about the road construction which seems to now be weeks if not months behind schedule), once additional runway capacity is provided at Stansted, Luton will simply fade into obscurity, and LBC will have lost its golden goose.
