THe wall socket you are wiring in, What is at the other end of the wire going through the wall? Eg: another socket. If so then follow my advice above, as long as both sockets are wired the same it should work ok. If you have another socket on the wall unscrew it from the wall and check the back of it for the correct wiring setup The link above shows both plug and socket connections. What brand of socket is it you are using? Sometimes there is a brochure incuded in the box with a diagram on it.
