I'm not an 'experienced' FO (400 hours), nor have I worked for any other airline than AEU so have a limited frame of reference.
However I enjoy it very much at AEU. 'family' atmosphere, I've been there about 5-6 months and already know many / most of the people there.
Flying is fantastically varied. My shortest sector, 20 mins, longest, 7 hours. Raw data non-precision and visual approaches in deepest darkest africa to full international bells and whistles in europe. From the arctic circle to the equator.
You get to visit, and stay, in some countries you will never, ever go to normally, for some that's a good thing, for others bad. Freetown for example is what you make of it. I don't mind it there.
Rosters are fairly stable. Ad-Hoc charters come up quite a bit, so roster changes can happen, but some of those charters are pretty interesting.
All in all I think its a good place to be, I certainly have no intention of going anywhere else.
Admin however can be a bit hit and miss, so don't think you've been ignored if you don't get a reply for a while! Chasing up can work well.
