Lo-Cost & 145
I must admit I have made the mistake of describing flybe as lo-cost and lo-fares in the past but in truth they have never been. True their base fares were lower (just) than BACON but never in the same bracket as BMI Baby etc.
As for the 145, does anyone know at what rate they will be disposed off after October or will this not be known until the autumn? I remember the the nextgeneration site had no disposals of the 145 by October 2007.
We all know what happened to Duo and Independence Air when trying to use 48 seat jets as a sort of lo-cost operation (low fares etc) and I assume BA would not underwrite any losses incurred?
Was it not around the 90 Million mark that flybe received from BA, will this cover the 145 operation (plus other things) until 2009? Logic tells me that CheekVisual has it right and we will see a rapid departure of the 145 as more Q400 crews come online?
