Hi

In the past they have had to recruit contract pilots, although management apparently would like more 'cards in' employees.

The trouble they have, in common with other smaller operators, is that they are unlikely to attract pilots away from the established airlines who enjoy improved terms and conditions of employment and security which, with all due respect, they are unable to match. Contract pilots fair a little better and have the flexibility of terminating their employment more easily of course.

Additionally the one big problem with FlyGlobeSpan is the 'Scotland' factor. Some people like Scotland, but a lot of people don't see the likes of Bathgate, Armadale and Livingston as their final resting place along the M8 corridor. That goes for cabin crew and operational staff as well. The local people are fine and for them it is a good opportunity. Not quite so attractive for outsiders. The bases in England will no doubt be more attractive but the issues mentioned above still apply.

It's demographics as much as anything else.

The question about the future prospects for the company is a totally different question and it is important to ask the right question and achieve the correct answer to what, by definition, are two questions: employment and corporate issues.

Kind regards
