Hostile

The thing with Flybe is simply that, for most, it's one of these airlines that you pass through on your way to better things.

There are some of course who love it and don't plan to leave and good luck to them.

Many people aspire to fly something other than the dash though, and the fact that there are always people leaving flybe to do this, means they're always short of experienced peeps.

The things I didn't like about it were.

1. Worked so many hours that there was little scope for overtime (I like flying and will happily do more, for more money if I can).

2. Had to do things which were disruptive for no extra money. For example called out on SBY (fair enough) to go off for a night stop somewhere and a different days flying on day two. A real disruption but guess what? no extra money or even option to decline the duty.

3. Duty always starts on earlies and finishes on lates. So your weekend is a minimum rest weekend virtually every time. Rest between duties also frequently the legal minimum.

4. Rostering was lazy. Getting rostered for the same duty for 3 days is a bit thoughtless. This may improve tho.

What I did like about it was, more variety in the routes and they go to some smaller regional airports, which is interesting, there was a drive to keep to schedule-which I like, the ground handlers all try hard and arriving at a deserted stand seems not to happen (it was common with BA ground 'service').

I stand by my earlier post though. Don't!

Unless it's all you can get.
