On the offshore figure wouldn't that would be Captain Low End? most 412 Copilots make about 2000, these figures are take home pay I believe, plus they pay for your airplane ticket home and back every 14 days, plus they will put in a hotel, plus you get some per diem. You will rarely have 14 hour duty days, as you are usually done by 1500 and can go the hotel by then, did I mention the cannot fly old aircraft, and always fly PIC / SIC who does most of the paperwork, and most guys don't even know what an engine rinse is . . .
Law enforcement varies greatly as it really depends which police team you fly for.
I was flying Agusta 109's until two months ago in Mexico City, (I always wanted to fly offshore so I quit that 2 months ago and went GOM) the pay figure is realistic for corporate + -, in Mexico you have nice things such as 30 days vacation every year, the Aguinaldo which is usually 1 or 2 months salary at the end of the year by law, bounuses and other stuff . . . job security is usually better as if the company doesn't need you anymore you get at least 3 months salary when they let you go plus 20 days for every year worked, and when you travel anywhere you usually get money to stay at good hotels and eat well all the time, life insurance, medical insurance, and a yearly employer matched savings plan . . . . .

Ohhh but I always wanted to try the offshore thing, I wanted to see what it feels to sleep in a trailer, I wanted to know what it was like to do an engine rinse, I wanted to know what it was like to wash your aircraft everyday, I wanted to know, what it was like to fly a single engine over 125 miles out into sea with nothing to see but water, I wanted to know what it was like to spend 5 hours on a toad stool, I wanted to know what it was like to live in a base far away from civilization surrounded by alligators and crawfish, I wanted to know what it was like to . . . . . now you got me going . . .
