Non-European Based in Europe
I am an American citizen and have been offered a pretty good job based in Europe. The requirement is that I live near an international airport as my flying will originate at various hubs/capitals around the continent and the company will take care of my transportation. It seems that the value of the package will hinge on making a good decision on where to live. Can anyone point me in a general direction in terms of cost of living/taxation/schools for the kids. Right now, my wife and I are thinking either Spain or France but that is based on incomplete information. I've been an expat for 12 years so I do have some realistic expectations (I think). My pay will be net after paying taxes in the company's home country so tax agreements and the ability to avoid double taxation would be important. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
