Rosters do vary from base to base, but on the whole, you should be able to expect three days of flying, two days of standby and two days off in a week.

If you work six days in a row, this will be followed by three days off.

You will also have the odd single day off in the middle of the week. A single day off being at least 38 hours with two local nights.

All I can say is that from my experience you won't feel overworked and you will be home pretty much every night.

The bit about all new FO's being sent to Aberdeen is not really true as most of the pilots there are there by choice.

Manchester is a small base, but there are some upgrades taking place there, I believe, so a basing there for a new FO is not impossible.

Good luck with the interview. Revisit the stuff on swept wings and deep stall, and be prepared for some questions on your current type, even if it is the aircraft you used for your IR training.

Good luck.
