Just heared on the news that a Thomson Fly Boeing 757-200 had 2 heron bird strikes upon departure from 06L at Manchester this morning, causing a near instant starboard engine fire.
From what ITV news says, the aircraft was in the air 45 minutes before landing again safely at Manchester, everybody ok - Flight deck crew reacted well and declared a mayday instantly.
