Absolutely hilarious.....I was going to post something on it last night but I'm glad I didn't or we would have been denied chihuaua's response!!! Sorry mate but had to laugh. And what better plaudit for the filmakers that you believed these guys were actually flight deck crew! In fairness you did say you only caught the last few minutes.

I just watched it again on video, had not heard of this series before but when it came on last night I realised after a couple of minutes it was a wind-up. However, full marks to the BBC for the most well informed aviation documentary I have ever seen. The actors were the most believeable pilots I've ever seen on TV. For those who missed it....a short transcript of the funniest bit as the pilots run through the pre take-off briefing

Captain: "So this will be a standard take off with full engine de-rating flap 5. When we line up I'll advance the thrust levers, you will call power stable, you will monitor take-off, call 80 knots, V1 and rotate.

Mallard (in jumpseat): "Right I'll just be here then so you know, I won't....."

Captain: "Below 80 knots I will stop for any failure"

Mallard: "Good"

Captain: "Above 80 knots we will only stop for engine fire.....

Mallard: "Right"

Captain: "Engine failure"

Mallard: "Good"

Captain: "Blocked runway"

Mallard: "OK"

Captain: "Listen this isn't for you!"

Mallard: "Oh right..."

Captain: "It's not a negro spiritual"

Mallard: "Oh ok, sorry......"

F/O: "There are times when we are just going to be busy"

Mallard: "Yeah sounds it"
