It's quite civilised here in Dubai, thank you very much! I've no direct experience of Abu Dhabi myself, but I have friends down there who like it just as well (not with ADA). It's certainly a lot nicer than sh*thole, Nebraska or *sshole Alberta!

All of the locals I have met have been extremely pleasant to deal with, from the police to the GCAA (granted, not management in some companies!). Yes, it's a logic-free zone sometimes, but so is UK at the moment under Blair. There are some countries that are as you describe, but you must remember that their religion bears as much relation to Islam as the Ku Klux Klan does to Christianity! And their governements have similar standing to the Mafia. As far as the UAE are concerned, they are one of the few countries in this world who are trying to do something for its citiizens.
