Shoulder dislocation
Hello, I have recently dislocated my shoulder for the second time. This time the dislocation occurred whilst just swinging a squash racket (not under force). After a few weeks I spoke to my AME who said i was free to go back to work (as a FI) as long as I was happy, which I did.
In the follow up care the specialist says I need an operation to stabilise the joint as in his opinion the shoulder is too unstable and I have a 90% chance of it happening again. I now have to weigh up the options as the op is a general anesthetic so my medical gets suspended I believe and I assume I wont get it back until I can prove to the AME I have full movement back (approx 2 months, with no company sick pay!) or I can continue flying without the op and just run the risk of another dislocation. The chance of it dislocating in flight is slim.
Has anyone out there been through this and have any opinions/experiences and also how does the CAA view multiple dislocations?
Thanks
