I believe the meeting of the participation committee was quite a bun fight.
Organisers had been hard at work for 6 months when the meeting took place.
New thought - let's show the RAF at work - like cooks cooking, engineers engining etc. (I remember when RAF cooks indeed provided catering rather than Bakers' Oven or whatever).
Fast pointy things going left - right - right - left - up - down did not actually showcase the RAF. Instead an air show would be role themed. Maybe (I am guessing) EAW themed. Like Herc doing short landing, RAF Regt firng off noisy thingss. Or big mushroom spinning, all ISTAR assets showcased ect.
Then a paradox. How could we show case a heli assault around the bazaars and, at the same time, say we were short of helicopters?
What were we proving with a 'fabulous' Typhoon display when the operational aircraft were being thrashed?
I know, lets have a clothing line - show case stores.
