CHC already operate an AW139, 5N-BJB for the Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili. One of the new AW139s will be for Agip and the other for the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Company for flights from Bonny, it being too dangerous to travel to Bonny bu boat any more. This will be another blow to Caverton who were talking of operating an AW139 for NLNG, especially after their fiasco with the LET410 fixed wing operation to Bonny. A South African registered Cessna Caravan now appears to be doing this. The new AW139s have the new larger capacity battery and an increase in permissible baggage weight. CHC are operating NNPCs 365N2 for NLNG at present. This addition of even more new helicopters to their Nigerian fleet is in sharp contrast to Bristow in PH, with just one S76C+, a tired old S76A++ and a Bell 407.
