HSBC do not have the right to tell you how or where you transfer your money too, I have had the same conversation with Lynda about being in breach of contract. The contract says that the HSBC account must be your main account, it is, I just choose to transfer a portion of my MY MONEY to another account each month (3/4 of the amount) at the start of the month.

That way I still use my HSBC account at the start of the month, paying 1.75 per transaction, then once the money have been transferred (3 working days) I use my Nationwide account for the rest of the month paying no transaction fees. Also the Nationwide card is a Visa debit card therefore allowing you to use it in bars/shops etc whereas the HSBC card is a Maestro card which means you can only use at an ATM.

It’s easy to set up a Nationwide account and with internet banking it only takes a minute (girl) to transfer money.
