Check the registrations. They're collecting AOCs, moving aircraft from one register to another and go where regulatory pressure is the lowest.
If I were one of the owners I would feel stuffed by the contract and the way it's implemented (not), but it looks like most don't even realize it. Or maybe they just enjoy it?
