I believe it's what Bombardier recommends, as every CRJ200 operator I know of does it the same way. Part of the reason is that CRJ200 comes down in a 2.5deg nose down attitude, due to the hard wing, so the speed doesn't bleed off so easily. The airplane also has quite a tendency to float if the thrust is left in a tad too long. Levers go to idle at 50', engines actually get there at about 30, start the flare at 20', flare no more than about 1.5 deg and let it settle on the rattlers. Works every time.
